I am now beginning the process of homeschooling my children.  I am hunting for resources on the Internet and picking the brains of friends who took on the challenge of educating and shepherding their children themselves some years ago.  One of the more ambitious tasks is to develop a curriculum.  I refuse to purchase one.  I am confident that I will be able to bring together enough knowledge from my teacher friends to pull this off.

You ask, "How do the children feel about being homeschooled?" Well, so far, they have mixed emotions.  Denai is very much a social butterfly so I am sure she is sincere when she states that she will miss her friends.  I hope that she will find comfort in attending her weekly guitar lessons and swim team practices.  Arthur looks forward to learning algebra in preparation for attending one of the early involvement programs at a selective enrollment school for 7th grade.  So he is a little more tolerant of the homeschooling process as he sees the benefits.  I hope Denai will come around to our point of view.

For other parents who may wonder what types of resources are available for homeschool families, check out Apologia Educational Ministries for a variety of science textbooks that suit the Christian home educators well.

Happy Homeschooling!
